Future home sellers & buyers face some serious challenges with the spread of the Coronavirus!
Future home sellers (buyers) face some serious challenges with the spread of the Coronavirus, COVID-19, and the economic crisis we find ourselves in. I’d like for you to know that the health and safety for our clients is our number one priority. I support you in anyway possible in order for you to care for and protect your family. We’ve developed here at Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices some best practices when buying or selling your home.
Consider video conferencing for meetings. In the technological age with smart phones, tablets, laptops and computers, this shouldn’t be a problem. Business nowadays allows you to digitally sign necessary documents, download reports and send money, all from the comfort of your own home.
The question I get most is, “When I put my home up for sale, how do I show my home to potential buyers?”
One suggestion would be to limit the number of showings, to Saturday’s from 10am - 2pm for instance. This should allow you enough time to plan for the showing. This would help minimize the cleaning and the disinfecting of your home. The truth is, the real estate market is still moving. Sellers are opening escrows and home buyers are still looking and making offers.
Someone asked me if I ever sold a home without the buyer ever seeing it in person? In short, yes. However, thats a rare happening. Most buyers need to view the home first hand before finalizing the home sale. This viral outbreak has already taken its toll for each of us. It’ll take about 6-8 weeks to discover the ramifications from the effects of the Coronavirus on the real estate market.
Amidst social distancing coupled with the worry of the unknown that we’re all currently going through, I’m confident of one thing. If we all do our part, this will soon pass. Working together is better. I’d like to share some accurate information from the World Health Organization (WHO). I hope you find this useful.
Food for thought:
Isn’t it interesting how our DISTANCE can bring us CLOSER?!
Let me know if there’s anything I can do.
Best,
Robert Ortega, Realtor®
